2010 Youth Tour winners
Carrie Grilliot and Sam Judd have been selected to represent Darke Rural Electric Cooperative (Darke REC) on a seven-day, all expense-paid trip to Washington, DC, in the 2010 Youth Tour program.
Carrie, a student at Versailles High School, is the daughter of John and Louise Grillot.
Sam Judd attends Tri-County North and is the son of Scott and Robin Judd.
Carrie and Sam will join approximately 40 students from other Ohio electric cooperatives for the tour beginning June 11th. The first stop will be in Gettysburg and then on to Washington where they will meet up with approximately 1600 students from all across the United States.
The week-long tour will include visits to Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, Arlington Cemetery, the National Zoo, Mt. Vernon, Smithsonian Institution, a night cruise down the Potomac River and many other interesting places. In addition, the students will have the opportunity to have lunch with their congressional representative.
The tour is offered so that students can be educated about the principles and practices of American democracy and gain an understanding of the rural electric cooperatives.

Every year when we check our meters we
find there are some meters that we don't
have access to. For safety purposes, we
must have access to every meter on the system.
If the meter at your location for one
reason or another is not accessible to Co-op
personnel, please call and let us help you to
determine the easiest way to move it. If
your location is on the list to have meters
checked and we can't get to it, you will be
receiving a letter on this matter.
